Several years ago, the Ramon y Cajal University Hospital implemented the voice recognition system SpeechMagic to equip all physicians and residents in the Radiology department.

The main goal of implementing this tool is to be able to generate reports using voice and deliver them immediately. The report is created in a single phase: dictation-editing-signing, which speeds up report delivery times and reduces the time to initiate treatment and hospitalization. All of this contributes to the improvement of healthcare quality.

With the voice recognition tool, the physician sees what they dictate immediately converted into text, without the need for transcription. This allows Radiologists to save time in report generation. The introduction of the new voice recognition system has clear benefits that go beyond purely economic profitability, as it directly impacts a crucial aspect like people’s health.

Dr. Javier Blázquez, Head of the Radiology Department at Ramon y Cajal University Hospital in Madrid, explains:

"The immediate availability of the clinical report provided by voice recognition is crucial for optimizing delivery times and the performance of the radiodiagnostics service. With SpeechMagic integrated into our Synapse RIS/PACS infrastructure, we have a reliable and highly accurate tool."

All this experience has led the system to be adopted in various departments of the hospital, such as Nuclear Medicine, Cardiology, Pathological Anatomy, and more.
